Helpful Alexa Commands

Courtesy of Dylan Busse here is a list of common Alexa commands for you to try with your Amazon Echo devices.

? Check weather: “Alexa, what’s the weather like?” (Can ask for any location)
? “Alexa, what’s traffic like?” (Must add app.)
? Get operating hours or a phone number for local businesses: “Alexa, find the address for Bank of America” or “Alexa, find business hours for Harris Teeter.”
? Ask for an: “Alexa, area code Woodlands, CA? or “Alexa, ask for a ZIP for Code for a Woodlands, CA? (Name your preferred city and state.)
? Check dates: “Alexa, when is [holiday] this year?”

Search

? Get Wikipedia information: “Alexa, Wikipedia: [subject].”
? Tell Alexa to continue reading a Wikipedia entry: “Alexa, tell me more.”
? Ask a general question: “Alexa, how tall is [person or object’s name]?”
? Ask a general question: “Alexa, how many people live in America?”
? Get a quote from any TV, movie, person or book by including the name in your command. Example: ?Get a Game of Thrones quote? or “Alexa, give me a Jeff Bezos
quote.”

Audiobook

? Play an audiobook: “Alexa, play [title] on Audible,” “Alexa, read [title]” or “Alexa, play
the book, [title].”
? Resume the last played audiobook: “Alexa, resume my book.”
? Skip audiobook chapters: “Alexa, next chapter” or “Alexa, previous chapter.”

Say the name of the podcast, station or news outlet you would like to hear. For a podcast

Definitions and Spelling

Math
